IATSE Entertainment Industry Makeup Training

Reel Works and IATSE Local 798 have partnered for the IATSE Entertainment Industry Makeup Artist Training which prepares makeup professionals of all backgrounds for successful union careers in the Makeup Department for theater, film, and television productions.

This training is made possible with the support of Pittsburgh Film Office, Partner4Work, and WQED.

What does it cost?

  • There is no fee for this program. Each trainee is paid to participate.

Who should apply?

  • 21+ years before start of training

  • Must reside within Western Pennsylvania (2 hour radius of Downtown Pittsburgh) for at least the past 6 months. Proof of residency will be required. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Legally eligible to work in the US

  • 1+ years of experience as a Makeup Artist 

  • Able to provide work samples
