Career Success is designed to support graduates of our workforce programs. It offers ongoing career support, including networking and job opportunities, mentorship, and workshops. Our Alumni Committee members play a crucial role in leading and shaping our alumni programming, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of our graduates.

Alumni Association

Gain access to the MediaMKRS Alumni platform on Mighty Networks, where you’ll find:

  • Industry-specific resources

  • Exclusive professional development programs

  • Invitations to mixers and networking events

Alumni Committee

Apply to join a leadership group of MediaMKRS graduates who:

  • Help shape the Alumni Association through planning and decision-making

  • Collaborate with Reel Works staff

  • Volunteer and represent the organization at events

  • Develop leadership skills and expand their professional networks

Advanced

Apply to industry mentorship programs in partnership with Reel Works:

  • Set and work toward career goals

  • Receive personalized, one-on-one guidance

  • Get support to advance within the media and entertainment field

Meet all the eligibility requirements? Email Mikel Butler, Career Success Manager, at Mikel@reelworks.org.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and you will be contacted by a member of the Career Success team. 

  • Complete a MediaMKRS program (Career Development Program, Reel Futures Media Internship Program, or Career Accelerator.) 

  • Graduates of Reel Works After School (RWAS), Reel Works In School (RWIS), and Career Lab are encouraged to apply to our Reel Futures Media Interns program. Individuals who bypass the program may still transition into Career Success if they meet the following criteria:

    1. Have completed two Reel Works programs, including, but not limited to RWIS, Doc Lab, Narrative Lab, Fellows, Summer Lab, Supported Summer Lab, Experimental Lab, Career Lab, etc. 

    2. Have held at least 2 media industry internships or jobs 

    3. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent

    4. Ready for full-time employment and not currently enrolled in a higher education institution

    5. A real passion to work in the TV/Film or media industry

    6. Eligible to work in the United States

    As part of the enrollment process, applicants must: 

    1. Complete work readiness training

    2. Engage in tailored career coaching
