MediaMKRS Badges

Today’s job-seekers are looking for innovative ways to display their skills and

employers are seeking efficient ways to source new talent.

MediaMKRS Badges are micro-credentials that communicate an individual’s skills or achievements to potential employers separate from a conventional resume. Digital credentials have been used in the tourism management, retail, medicine and IT fields, emerging as a tool to convey practical learning not captured by traditional assessments.

MediaMKRS Digital Badges are industry-backed and align with nationwide work readiness standards. These credentials have been developed in conjunction with a task force of leading industry professionals and align with National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) key competencies associated with career readiness.

Skills-driven

Embedded within the badge lives information such as the issuing institution, the date earned, the criteria required to earn the badge and the evidence that shows that the required criteria has been met.

Shareable

Badges can be put on social media sites, such as LinkedIn, added as a link on a resume, or personal website.

Natasha Amendolara, Clinical Program Director · The Animation Project, Inc.

"The implementation of Digital Badging into TAP's programming has been undoubtedly beneficial on multiple levels. The opportunity to earn both technical and career readiness badges has been a significant motivating factor for our students in working diligently on their projects, gaining new skills and successfully moving through the program. In our Animation Training Program, trainees work hard in completing multiple iterations of a project in order to earn a specific badge and take a great amount of pride in being able to celebrate those achievements with their peers. While the majority of TAP participants and trainees do not enter the program having completed a traditional educational path in the field of animation, the digital badges earned also serve as a powerful way for them to communicate their skills on a resume or LinkedIn profile to potential employers. The digital badges have provided a measurable way to demonstrate growth, aptitude and increase confidence within our participants and trainees in taking the next steps toward their career goals."

Bianca R., TAP graduate

“As a TAP trainee, the digital badges helped provide structure and clarity for my learning process. The badges enabled me to focus on which technical and workforce development skills I wanted to improve on, thus acting as a source of motivation throughout the program. Outside of TAP, the badges are impressive conversation starters at networking events. I also appreciate having the option to link badges to potential employers, which reports the full details of my certifications.”
