Career Lab

Career Lab offers paid work-based learning experiences, work readiness training, and networking opportunities to high school students to explore media careers and develop the skills needed to enter the industry. Graduates of the Career Lab program gain confidence, expand their professional networks, and identify career paths they’d like to explore. Career Lab participants earn MediaMKRS Badges, digital credentials that display employability skills that are industry-backed and align with national work readiness competencies.

Career Lab Interns explore careers in the following areas:

  • Production (Scripted)

  • Production (Unscripted)

  • Post-Production 

  • Advertising/Marketing

Check Your Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements: 

  • Be either a CTE student enrolled in one of the referral schools or a Reel Works After-school graduate who is currently enrolled in their junior or senior year of high school 

  • Interested in exploring a career in the media industry in the areas of Production (Scripted), Production (Unscripted), Post-Production, Advertising & Marketing

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States 

  • Must reside within commuting distance to NYC. Proof of residency will be required.
