Career Accelerator Program

with Jigsaw Productions

The Career Accelerator Program is a new initiative by Reel Works’ MediaMKRS program. The 2022-2023 partnership is in collaboration with Jigsaw Productions, to provide mentoring and hands-on career exploration to young adults interested in a career in film and documentary production.

Jigsaw Productions will offer early-career “mentees” the opportunity to work at Jigsaw Productions 1:1 with industry professionals who will serve as “career mentors.” For the Spring 2022 cycle, candidates can choose either the TV Production or Development & Production Executive track.

  • Mentees will have the opportunity to work with their mentor on specific projects during the four-month program that will enhance their interest and skills and introduce them to key professionals in the documentary film industry.

  • Mentees will have an opportunity to work on their own documentary project throughout the program.

  • Mentees will earn a $1500 stipend over the course of the program.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

  • Eligible and ready to work in the U.S.; applicants who are still in school will not be considered

  • Must reside within a 2-hour commute to NYC for the past 6 months or longer

  • Strong computer skills (Mac OSX, MS Office, Excel, Google Suite, Google Drive, etc.)

  • Demonstrated interest in working in the field of documentary film production.

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in the production industry

  • Bachelor’s degree (Communications, TV/Film Production, Journalism or a related field of study) OR equivalent work experience

  • Able to attend a mandatory virtual information session hosted by Reel Works.

  • Willing to meet virtually for a one-to-one interview as part of the selection process. 

  • Must be fully vaccinated and able to show proof of vaccination.

  • Must be able to commit to working 2 days (16 hours a week) with Jigsaw Productions between TBD (dates are subject to change).

  • Currently the program is fully remote but that is subject to change.

  • First Round Applications will be accepted until Monday, March 21st at 11:59PM ET. Apply early!

  • Applicants will be selected by April 11th.

To receive the application, you must attend one of the mandatory Info Sessions.
