What are the advantages of hiring a MediaMKRS participant?

  • MediaMKRS students are a selective group of passionate rising media professionals that will bring a fresh perspective to your organization or production. All MediaMKRS participants receive Work Readiness Training to provide them with important soft skills needed in professional environments. Students and supervisors also have the support of MediaMKRS staff through the work placement.

  • As an internship supervisor, you are helping to shape the path of upcoming media professionals. Internships are a crucial part of career development and by providing an internship you are helping a student gain access to a career they are passionate about.

How do I hire a MediaMKRS intern?

  • If you are an employer with an existing internship program, please email us at info@reelworks.org with the Subject “Hire an Intern.”

  • MediaMKRS staff will then reach out to set up a meeting to learn more about your intern needs and determine how we can best work together.

  • We share the job description with our students. The job description should include a brief summary of the role, responsibilities, and required skills for a successful internship.

  • MediaMKRS will connect you to candidates for you to interview and decide which students you would like to work with.

  • Once an intern has been hired, you can work directly with the intern to set schedules and work expectations. An internship coordinator will be assigned to support the placement.

I don’t have an internship program at my company, can MediaMKRS help?

Yes, we have successfully launched internship programs with our company partners. Send us an email at info@reelworks.org and we will set up a call to learn more.

What is the process to hire a PA?

Email info@mediamkrs.org and we can connect you to our roster of Production Assistants. We are happy to support both short and long-term PA gigs.

What does the typical work schedule look like and how long is the program?

MediaMKRS is very flexible with our work experiences. Each student is expected to complete 120 hours of internship time per level of the program. These 120 hours can be allocated as you and your intern see fit. Work experiences can be a series of on-set experiences or a scheduled internship. We are very open to working with a variety of different opportunities such as freelancers who work on a project basis, one-off Production Assistant gigs, and scheduled internship programs. We are open to any days or times of the week as well.

As a supervisor, will I receive backup support from MediaMKRS staff?

MediaMKRS staff is available to help from recruitment through internship completion. We are happy to aid in communicating with interns to provide feedback and troubleshoot throughout the internship experience.
